Voter Identification

You must provide proof of your identity and address in order to recieve a ballot at a polling place.  Three options are available to meet the voter identification requirements. Voter ID posters will be displayed at all polling stations.

Option 1:  Show one piece of photo ID

Driver’s Licence, Northwest Territories
General Identification Card (GIC), Northwest Territories

Option 2:  Show two pieces of ID
Bring one document from each column, in any combination, to prove your identity and address.

Option 3:  Take an Oath

You take an oath, and an eligible elector whose name appears on the voters list for the same polling division and who has sufficient identification also takes an oath and vouches for you.
